Samaesarn Island  is located in Sattahip District, Chonburi Province, not far from Pattaya. It takes about 50 minutes to get there from Pattaya (you can rent a motorcycle), and about 2 hours from Bangkok. The island features crystal clear water, white sand beaches, and a stunning underwater world . It’s close to the mainland, just 15 minute By boat .

  • Samaesarn Island is open for tourists every day, all year round. The best months to visit, based on my experience, are January and February, when the sea is calm and clear.
  • It is a day trip destination; there is no accommodation on the island, and overnight stays are not allowed.
  • Foreign tourists can now visit without being accompanied by a Thai person. However, the information on the Koh Samaesarn website is outdated and states that they must be accompanied by a Thai person
  • You can walk in to buy tickets every day .There are no online bookings for foreign tourists , you must purchase tickets at the counter according to the boat schedule. I recommend arriving half an hour in advance.
  • Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on Samaesarn Island.
  • Pets of any kind are not allowed on Samaesarn
  • Styrofoam food containers are not allowed.

Looklom Beach has clean white sand and crystal-clear blue waters that can be seen from a distance. I visited at the end of January, and the sea was very calm. Personal opinion, I find the sea in January more beautiful than in the summer, when the waves feel stronger.

On the right side of the beach, there are rocks contrasting with the blue sea and white sand, creating a small beach area that feels like a private beach.

You can walk to samaesarn Island viewpoint. You have to climb about 90 steps to reach the viewpoint. From the viewpoint, you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the sea.
